Our Mission

Roj Community Protection Foundation works to protect lives and strengthen the resilience of conflict-affected communities by designing and implementing specialized programs in Mine Action and Community Protection. These programs include Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE), Non-Technical Survey (NTS), community engagement, information management, needs assessments, victim referral, and institutional and national capacity building. The organization seeks to deliver an evidence-based humanitarian response grounded in community participation, effective partnerships, and adherence to national and international standards. Through these efforts, Rouj contributes to protecting civilians, supporting early recovery, promoting safe return, and achieving sustainable impact for affected communities.

Our Vision

To establish Roj Foundation for Community Protection as a leading and trusted national organization in civilian protection, Mine Action, and community protection, contributing to the development of safer and more resilient Syrian communities, free from the threats posed by mines, explosive ordnance, and explosive remnants of war. We seek to empower all individuals to live with dignity, safely access essential services, restore their livelihoods, and actively participate in rebuilding their communities.

Partnerships

Since its establishment in 2016, Roj Foundation for Community Protection has recognized that effective partnerships are among the key drivers of successful and sustainable humanitarian action. Accordingly, the Foundation has built collaborative relationships with government authorities, national and international organizations, donors, and humanitarian institutions to strengthen civilian protection, develop national capacities, and improve the quality of humanitarian response.

These partnerships have contributed to the development of the Foundation’s institutional systems, enhanced the efficiency of its staff, strengthened its technical and operational capacities, and supported the implementation of humanitarian programs that respond to the needs of conflict-affected communities, in line with national laws and international standards.

The Foundation continues to expand its network of partnerships based on mutual respect, transparency, shared responsibility, and a commitment to achieving sustainable humanitarian impact for local communities.

Shar Development

Supported the launch of the Foundation’s first mine and explosive ordnance risk education programs, contributing to the establishment of the foundation for its community awareness initiatives.

MAG (Mines Advisory Group)

Contributed to strengthening technical and administrative capacities, developing the skills of national personnel in the field of Mine Action, and enhancing operational readiness in line with best professional practices.

HAMAP Humanitaire

Provided institutional and technical support, including specialized training, the development of operational procedures, and strengthening the capacities of field teams in the areas of Mine Action and field first aid.

Spirit of America (SOA)

Supported the Foundation by providing field equipment and supplies that enhanced team readiness and the safety of field operations.

DanChurchAid (DCA)

Supported the development of the Foundation’s institutional and operational capacities, strengthened its infrastructure, and supported the implementation of Explosive Ordnance Risk Education, Non-Technical Survey, and community engagement programs in line with humanitarian standards.

Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA)

Contributed to supporting and implementing Non-Technical Survey (NTS) programs, Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) programs, and strengthening the Foundation’s field capacities in Al-Hasakah and Raqqa Governorates, contributing to improving the quality of the humanitarian response.
